Our Vision
Our vision is simple yet profound: TO CULTIVATE SAINTS and position the Academy as the leading and most respected Classical Orthodox Academy in Australia.
Shaping the loves of our students is our prime objective and that starts and ends with love for God as revealed through His church: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and love for our neighbour made in the image and likeness of God.
Our Mission
We provide a Classical Christian Orthodox education that develops Christian wisdom, virtue, eloquence and Theosis through the lens of Christ, The Saints, the seven liberal arts and the great books. We achieve this by nurturing the souls, bodies, hearts and minds of our prep to grade 6 students to create lifelong learners and critical thinkers who contribute to church, society and who seek and love God with their whole being.
The emphasis is on eloquence, theosis, and virtues, which our students will carry into adulthood. We nurture our students to grow into role models and the men and women the world desperately needs. The Academy will serve Orthodox families and the broader Christian community of the Brisbane region through a Classical Christian curriculum from Preparatory to year 12 with a focus on the liberal arts, the great books, the study of Latin and Greek, instruction in the Orthodox Christian faith and liturgical services.
The Academy will provide a truly Christian environment with classically focused teachers and classrooms, an emphasis on working closely with parents and children, and on the interconnectivity of all things in God's creation. The aim is to fully enculturate the whole child while structuring the child's learning around the liturgical year.
Virtues
A St John of Kronstadt student is taught to master the following four virtues in life.
Integrity
Cultivating theosis with God and living honestly and morally in every aspect of life. Integrity involves being truthful, fair, and consistent in one's words and actions.
Perseverance
Developing the ability to persist in the face of challenges and setbacks. Perseverance is about maintaining commitment even when progress is slow or difficult.
Compassion
Fostering empathy, humility, inner strength and kindness towards others. Compassion involves understanding others and acting with a genuine desire to help and support those in need.
Wisdom
Pursuing knowledge and understanding, and applying them judiciously in making decisions. Wisdom is about discerning what is true and right, and using that insight to navigate life's complexities effectively.
