Vision, Mission & Virtues
Our Vision

Our vision is simple yet profound: TO CULTIVATE SAINTS and position the Academy as the leading classical Orthodox Christian Academy in Australia.

Shaping the loves of our students is our prime objective and that starts and ends with love for God as revealed through His church: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and love for our neighbour made in the image and likeness of God.

Our Mission

We provide a classical Christian Orthodox education that develops wisdom, virtue and eloquence - leading to theosis through the lens of Christ, the saints, the seven liberal arts, the great books, study of Latin and Greek, instruction in the Orthodox Christian faith and liturgical services. We achieve this by nurturing the souls, bodies, hearts and minds of our students to create life long learners and critical thinkers who love God with their whole being and contribute to church and society. The Academy serves Orthodox families and the broader Christian communities of the Brisbane region through a classical Christian curriculum from preparatory to year twelve.

The Academy provides a truly Christian environment with classically focused teachers and classrooms, an emphasis on working closely with parents and students and inter-connectivity with all things in God’s creation. The aim is to enculturate the whole child while structuring the child’s learning around the liturgical year.

Virtues

A St John of Kronstadt student is taught to master the following four virtues in life.

Integrity

Living what we believe, saying what we mean, doing what is right and ensuring our word is always trusted.

Humility

Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less (C.S. Lewis).

Temperance

The ability to exercise restraint of character and to serve with faithfulness, patience and moderation.

Charity

Genuine care for one another through service, compassion and sacrifice—in a single word: love.
