At St John of Kronstadt Academy we provide our students with a classical Orthodox education that will nurture each student's soul, mind and body. Our emphasises is on the development of wisdom, virtue, and eloquence. We view each student as a whole being, and educate in order to cultivate their character, both spiritual and physical.

Our students are lifelong learners and thinkers who contribute to church, family and society and are the image of Christ in the world.

Academy Life

A classical Orthodox education with a difference - nurturing the whole student within a culture that inspires wisdom, deep faith, and
the pursuit of truth.

Primary Academy

The Primary Academy currently includes Preparatory through to Grade four (with a grade added each year). The Academy introduces students to a traditional classical education, combined with the national curriculum. Our focus is Christ-centred, instilling wisdom and virtue in our students.

Prayer and liturgy

Prayer and liturgy is at the centre of Academy life. We begin and end each day in prayer and the Divine Liturgy is held each week. We pray throughout our day to keep our focus on Christ. The lives of the saints is read every morning, providing an example on how to live the Christian life.

Latin

Latin is not a dead language! Much of our English language derives from Latin. To master English, we lay a strong foundation in Latin. At the primary level, this begins with immersing students in latin chants, rhymes and songs and then later introducing them to language structure and grammar.
